Being the academic wing of S.W.R.D.Bandaranaike National Memorial Foundation, BCIS is a non-profit, service-oriented organisation.
Fees are charged for the courses conducted by the BCIS. The various research projects and publications are funded by research grants.
The study materials for the Language Training Programme are provided by the foreign missions.

All infrastructure facilities, including a magnificent two-storied building, modern furniture and state-of-the-art office automation equipment have been provided by the Government of the People's Republic of China.
