The English Language Training Programme, inaugurated in 2003, has been established to help people working in the private, public and semi-government sectors upgrade their abilities to use English for professional purposes. It is a joint project between the BCIS and the U.S. Department of State's English Language Fellow Programme, which has assigned an English Language Teaching Consultant to the BCIS to help launch and coordinate the programme.
This course gives students the skills, confidence and knowledge to become more dynamic and effective publicspeakers. Led by a talented group of facilitators well versed in the art of speech craft, students learn to handle a variety of public speaking tasks from prepared presentations to impromptu votes of thanks. The methodology is “learn by doing” with participants evaluating their own and others’ efforts in an engaging and supportive atmosphere.
