A number of language courses are conducted by the center with a view to fostering and promoting friendly relationship among Nations. Since the inception of the Centre in 1974, it has been in the forefront of popularising foreign languages among Sri Lankans and Sinhala & Tamil languages among foreigners with a view to fostering and promoting friendly relationship among nations.

The Centre also places a lot of emphasis on promoting the Tamil language among Sinhalese and vice versa in order to help overcome the communication barrier among the two communities.
